Logically, you will only be able to take advantage of 120W fast charging if your Xiaomi smartphone is compatible. To get the 120W promised by Xiaomi, you also have to use the official charger and cable. This will not work with a third-party USB-C charger. You can also deactivate this option, if you wish, to conserve your battery. That's why Xiaomi has implemented this feature.

But normally, unless you're charging your smartphone in direct sunlight at 40 degrees Celsius, you won't be taking much risk. Whatever it is, 120W or not, your Xiaomi smartphone can automatically adjust the “power” it needs from your charger. This is done dynamically, and above all, your smartphone will not absorb 120 watts throughout the charging cycle.

The closer the battery gets to 100%, the slower the charging becomes. Once it exceeds 80 or even 90%, the smartphone switches to “burst charging” mode. The charger then simply delivers enough power to compensate for your smartphone's battery's "natural" losses. In this article, we explain everything related to the effect of fast charging.
That's definitely why you also have an alert function to notify you when the 120W charging is active and the charging speed is increasing.
That's all for this tutorial that shows you how to activate 120W fast charging on your Xiaomi smartphone. Do you know this HyperOS trick? Will you activate this option or, on the contrary, will you deactivate it for fear of damaging your battery?
