WhatsApp is constantly testing new features behind the scenes, and the new one will allow you to leave even longer voice messages, but only in your status update.
Some features take time to arrive on the official version of WhatsApp, with the Meta-owned messaging service taking time to polish updates before rolling them out globally. This is the case with the latest WhatsApp update, which allows users to share longer voice messages through status updates.
Although WhatsApp started working on voice status updates a few years ago, the first stage was launched earlier in 2023 with support for 30-second voice recordings. This weekend, WABetaInfo reported that WhatsApp had raised this limit, now allowing one-minute voice messages to be posted as WhatsApp status updates.

WHATSAPP LETS YOU POST LONGER VOICE MESSAGES
Of course, users are not required to record a full 60-second audio clip. The new cap simply increases the maximum duration allowed. It provides greater flexibility for sending longer voice messages compared to the previous constraint of 30 seconds.
The improved audio status feature is now rolling out to the iOS and Android versions of WhatsApp. However, this is not an automatic update. You will need to manually update your installation of WhatsApp via the App Store or Google Play Store to access it.
This is also a gradual rollout rather than immediate and widespread availability. As is often the case with WhatsApp updates, this is a staged rollout process. This means it may be a few weeks before all WhatsApp users have the ability to record and share one-minute voice updates about their personal status. So, if you have launched the latest version of WhatsApp and find that the limit for saving voice statuses remains fixed at half a minute, don't worry. You will just have to wait a few days to receive the update on the application store.
